Scrambling, Struggles & Summit Views: Lessons from the Lakes

I’m back from my holiday with my family and friends in the lake district we have a house in a beautiful setting. The mornings were so peaceful and I was still the first one up at 6am enjoying the sounds of birds, sheep and cows.

I’ve never been on a walking holiday before, I leave that up to my husband, I much prefer a city break!

I have claimed Loughrigg fall and The Old Man of Conniston and BOY was I pushed right out of my comfort zone! The scrambling is soo tough and the top seemed soo far away. But I couldn’t turn back, I’d come far to far! (There may have been tears some out of fear, some out of frustration. I Put soo much pressure on my hip (I broke it when I was 13, that’s another story) so I compensated with my other leg and put too much pressure on my knee! So the journey down although slightly easier was very painful and uncomfortable.

I didn’t feel great, I didn’t feel like I had accomplished anything, I was at the back, I was slow. My husband stayed with me for encouragement. BUT I DID IT as everyone kept saying you didn’t turn back, “but I couldn’t” others did Hannah, you carried on.

I made it up and back down and made dam sure I had a picture at the summit!!

This trip reminded me just how important support is in life and in business. You don’t have to be at the top of your game all the time. You don’t have to climb the whole mountain alone.
